In a solemn ceremony, 33 Catechists, comprising 31 males and two (2) females, were consecrated at the Ebenezer Congregation in Old Tafo, Kumasi on Sunday, December 10, 2023. The event, which served as the climax of their year-long preparatory process, took place after the candidates successfully completed the Lay Ministerial Training (LMT) at the reputable Ramseyer Training Centre (RTC) in Abetifi-Kwahu. The donation which included sachet water, sanitary pads, toiletries, soft drinks, tooth pastes and brushes among others was donated on Friday 1st December 2023. Mr. Evans Acquah, Asante Presbytery YAF President presenting the items said the donation was in line with the Fellowship’s resolve in the last few years to support such needy institutions in the Presbytery. The 2023 National Evangelism and Church Growth Consultation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, under the theme: “Church Growth: Our Collective Responsibility” (Eph. 4:11-12), has seen the awarding of Asante and West Brong Presbyteries as the two outstanding Presbyteries. The national Director for Missions and Evangelism, Rev. Dr. E. K. Sarbah, explained that the categories were the outstanding cumulative numerical growth and the outstanding cumulative percentage growth of Presbyteries from 2020 to 2022.
