WE WILL NOT CEASE PRAYING FOR OTUMFUO AND ASANTEMAN -MODERATOR

Rt. Rev. Dr. A. Nana Opare Kwakye - Moderator of PCG

The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rt. Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye, in a sober declaration, has reaffirmed the resolute commitment of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana to continuously uplift HRM Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, and the entire Asanteman through fervent prayers.

He recalled the historical ties between the Manhyia Palace and the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, dating back to the days of Missionary Rev. Fritz Ramseyer and emphasized the enduring nature of this partnership has been a testament to the harmonious coexistence fostered over the years.

The Moderator expressed the Church’s dedication to fostering peace through the Peace initiative project and pledged to actively promote peace before, during, and after the 2024 elections so as to consolidate the peace that the nation enjoys.

Additionally, he extended assurances to Otumfuo that the entire General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana eagerly anticipates gracing the grand celebration of his 25 years of assumption onto the Golden Stool in April 2024.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Kwakye acknowledged the 14-year legacy of the New Year service with Otumfuo, an offshoot of the “Mission to the Palace” initiative by the Asante Presbytery. Every first day of January, the Asante Presbytery convenes a special service with the Royal family to seek divine guidance and blessings for the King, his family, and the entire Asanteman.

This annual tradition has not only deepened the spiritual ties between the Church and the Palace but has also served as a testament to the enduring unity and mutual support between these two revered institutions.
