Many revelations, numerous stories that inspire have been shared since the 63rd Call to the Bar Ceremony held on Friday, 9th October 2026. One of such is that of Rev. WOI (Rtd) William Osei Atakora, ESQ- a Soldier, A Minister of the Gospel and now, a Lawyer.

Before entering the legal profession, Rev. Atakora served Ghana with honour and dedication in the military. As a Warrant Officer Class One (WOI), he acquired the discipline, courage, leadership, and resilience associated with military service. Then in 2016, he was commissioned as Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. Yet, even while serving in the military and the Church, another aspiration remained alive in his heart—the desire to study law and serve society through justice.
The study of Law is a test indeed, “pursuing legal education demanded tremendous commitment and sacrifice. The journey was not without its difficulties, but I remained steadfast with full trust in God” he said.

Today, that perseverance has borne fruit. Now is the time to bring to bear the years of discipline from the military service, the ministerial formation of integrity, faith and service as a Reverend Minister to bear on a profession that also demands integrity, intellectual rigour, fairness, confidentiality, and respect for the administration of justice.
Papa Soldier, Esq. Congratulations!!
