The place of the Children’s Ministry in the Presbyterian Church of Ghana was once again highlighted during the 2024 Children’s rally organized by Yennyawoso District of the Asante Presbytery on 17th February 2024.
The rally attracted 470 Children from Congregations and Preaching Points within the District. The Church leadership was represented by the District Minister, Rev. Eric K. Adjepong and other members of the District Session Standing Committee, Presbyters and a number of Children Service Teachers, attesting to the interest of the Church in Children Ministry.
Rev. Maxwell Asah Darko, the CLAN Coordinator for the District, rightly emphasized the significance of being intentional about Children’s Ministry, he acknowledged that such events will have lasting impression and impact on the Children.
The diverse range of activities, including a float through the principal streets, house-to-house evangelism, a quiz competition, and recreational activities like swimming and bouncy castles, provided a holistic and engaging experience for the children. At the end of the day 20 souls were won for Christ.
Rev. Eric K. Adjepong, the District Minister, delivered a sermonette on the theme “Jesus Christ the Alpha and the Omega; the Hope of the Child,” where he emphasized the centrality of Jesus in the lives of children and encouraged them to place absolute trust in Him.
Recognition was given to the efforts of Yennyawoso Congregation, which emerged winners in the quiz competition, but the real reward for every child was the joy that filled the premises.
Present to support were Mr. Forkuo Kwarteng, the District Lay rep, Madam Patience Effah (President, Presbytery Children Service Teachers Fellowship), other dedicated Children Service Teachers, and Presbyters who guided the Children throughout the various sessions.
God bless the Yennyawoso District and The Children’s Ministry.
